SAN LUIS PANORAMICO

This tour will give you a broader idea of our capital city; we start our tour with a pedestrian stroll through the historic center, and then we move on to the Calzada de Guadalupe where we find the Center for the Arts (former prison) and the Shrine of our Lady of Guadalupe, passing through a few of the old neighborhoods (barrios).

CHURCH OF GUADALUPE (IN THE DESERT) AND SAN JOSE DAM

This conservative shrine located in the Buenavista mountains, houses a magnificent wooden-gold gilded altar piece, dedicated to our Lady of Guadalupe, with imposing paintings and wooden statues dating for the XVIII century. We continue our tour to the San Jose dam, built at the end of the XIX century, where we have a find a great view of the city. Operates only on Sundays. Duration 3 hours.

SAN PEDRO HILL

This tiny picturesque mining town gave way to the city of San Luis when gold mines were discovered in 1592.

STA. MARIA DEL RIO & MEXICAN HACIENDA

We will visit the Rebozo (shawl) School where this traditional garment is still manufactured by hand; the local church with magnificent ceiling frescoes and the typical bakery. On our way to Santa Maria, we will stop at the 18th century hacienda (ranch), which has been used as location for many international films. 
Duration 4:30 hours.

EXHACIENDAS POTOSINAS

Located north of the city, these haciendas  supplied the city with livestock and produce since the 17th century. Here you can still feel the passing of time. Duration 5 hours. Cost $500 per person, includes transportation, entrance fees, insurance and guide.

REAL DE CATORCE

Magical town with the charm of a ghost town. Dating from 1778, Real has remained a witness to the various struggles of Mexico, where the 19th century air can still be breath from the moment you enter the Ogarrio tunnel up to visit to the miraculous statue of St. Francis of Asis.

CASCADAS DE TAMASOPO Y PUENTE DE DIOS

Departing from San Luis and after crossing the Sierra Madre Oriental, the sugar cane fields show us the way to the blue pond in Puente de Dios, a wonder of nature; we then continue to the refreshing Tamasopo waterfalls to swim and enjoy the rest of the afternoon.

LAGUNA DE LA MEDIA LUNA, RIOVERDE

After a two hour drive from San Luis through the Sierra, we reach the spring known as the Media Luna (Half Moon), where you will enjoy swimming in the pristine lagoon; snorkeling and even diving are available at the site. Duration 10 hours.

CASCADA DE TAMUL Y CUEVA DEL AGUA

Located in the heart of the Huasteca region and after a drive through the Eastern Sierra Madre, we board the canoe and row for one hour until we reach the highest waterfall in San Luis Potosí. On the way back we stop at the Cueva del Agua, to swim in the blue pond. Duration 14 hours. April thru October.

GARDEN OF SURREAL SCULPTURES,  MAGICAL TOWN OF XILITLA AND TAMASOPO WATERFALLS

On the way to San Miguel, we stop at Atotonilco to admire the “Mexican Sixtine Chapel", a lovely church with 18th century frescoes. In the colonial city of San Miguel, we will stroll through the cobblestone streets and visit the imposing neogothic church of San Miguel, the church of the Immaculate Conception and the former convent, now the home for Fine Arts School, the home of the Mayorazgo, Churches of St. Francis and  San Felipe Neri. After lunch you will have time to shop at the charming typical crafts market.

DOLORES HIDALGO & ATOTONILCO, GTO -  ONE DAY EXCURSION

Before we arrive in Dolores, we stop at Atotonilco to admire the “Mexican Sixtine Chapel", a lovely church with 18th century frescoes.  Our visit starts in the church of Our Lady of Dolores (where father Hidalgo started the independence movement), the former prison, Casa de las Visitas, the Abasolo house and city hall located off the Jardin Hidalgo, main square. We will also visit the Hidalgo Museum, housed in his former home and the Jose Alfredo Jimenez home, probably the most important composer and singer of Mexican folk music.

MINERAL DE POZOS, GTO. - ONE DAY EXCURSION

After a brief stroll through the streets of Villa de Pozos, we continue the tour to the abandoned mines and haciendas, where the old ruined buildings remain as witnesses of the magnificent and rich Porfirian era, at the end of the 19th century. In this beautiful yet dry area, we will walk between cactus, agave plants and ruins, and maybe if lucky,  surprised by an old owl or rabbit.

ZACATECAS, ZAC. - ONE DAY EXCURSION

Considered as one of the richest mines in Mexico, Zacatecas now opens the doors to its viceregal past through winding cobblestone streets. Here we will see some of the best examples of barroque architecture: the imposing Cathedral carved in pink limestone, the magnificent Dominican church with wooden gilded altars, and the former Agustine churche, now turned into an exhibit hall.  We will also see the intriging mine of Eden, the aqueduct, 19th century buildings and a superb view of the city from the Bufa hill.

RUTA DEL MEZCAL Y PINOS, ZAC. - ONE DAY EXCURSION

Hidden in the Sierra de Pinos, the ancient mining village of Pinos (pine trees)now offers a peaceful stroll through the streets flanked by pine trees and magnificent churches with wooden gilded altars that remind us of our viceregal past.  Before we discover this tiny jewel, we stop at the mezcal factory, where we will be able to learn more about the process to produce this typical drink and enjoy a sip of mezcal.

QUERETARO, QRO. - ONE DAY EXCURSION

The capital of the state of Queretaro offers a great number of attractions to visitors: starting at the main square where you can visit the Governor's Palace, surrounded by pedestrian streets with excellent restaurants and vendors offering crafts. The Santa Rosa de Viterbo convent with imposing altars dating from the 18th century, the Cathedral, the Santa Clara church, and the Cerro de las Campanas; all these and more remains to be discovered.

AGUASCALIENTES, AGS. - ONE DAY EXCURSION

Aguascalientes offers visitors many attractions: beginning at the Patria plaza with the Government Palace decorated with 109 arches and magnificent murals; the Exedra monument and the Cathedral.  The churches of San Marcos, Purísima & San Antonio as well as the old train station now converted into the Plaza de las 3 Centurias, where you find the Railroad Museum and the dancing fountains. Not to be missed, the Museo de la Muerte (Death Museum) and the Jose Guadalupe Posada Museum.

FRANCISCAN MISSIONS INTHE SIERRA GORDA, QUERETARO

Besides the amazing views of the Queretaro Sierra Gorda, a natural protected area, the excess of vegetation and plants is also reflected in the facades of the missions founded by Franciscan Frair Junipero Serra in the 18th century. Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, these five missions represent the spirituality and religiousness of that time: Tilaco: naive faith; Tancoyol: Mercy; Landa: the city of God; Jalpan: the defense of faith y Concá: the victory of faith.  In Jalpan you can enjoy the interesting Fray Junípero Serra Museum, dedicated to the work of this illustrious Franciscan friar.
